DESCRIPTION


SILMATE 2000 Two Parts Structural Glazing Sealant is a high strength neutral curing silicone sealant specially developed and tested for structurally glazed curtain wall applications. SILMATE 2000 Two Parts Structural Glazing Sealant works with two-part mixing equipment and the two parts react quickly after mingled in scale, then cures to elastomer. Once cured, this structural sealant forms a durable, flexible, watertight bond that can be warranted for 20 years and used in ±25% movement weatherseal applications.



APPLICATION


Silicone structural glazing in curtain wall, such as factory glazing of unitized curtain wall system or field constructed stick curtain wall system; Structural attachment of many panel systems; Protective glazing applications; Panel stiffener applications. As a secondary edge adhesive sealant in insulating glass units.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE


SILMATE 2000 Two Parts Structural Glazing Sealant should be stored in airtight, closed containers. When stored at or below 30℃, both the base and curing agent have a shelf life of 12 months from date of manufacture. Refer to product packaging for "Use By" date.



LIMITATIONS


Not recommended for building materials that bleed oils, plasticizers, or solvents-materials such as impregnated wood, oil-based caulks, green or partially vulcanized rubber gaskets or tapes. Not recommended for use in totally confined spaces as the sealant requires atmospheric moisture for cure. Not recommended for continuous water immersion applications. Not recommended for use on frost-laden or wet surfaces. Not recommended for places where painting of the sealant is required, as the paint film may crack and peel. Do not apply at temperatures below 4℃ or above 40℃.
