DESCRIPTION

SILMATE 1100 Acrylic Joint & Gap Sealant is a water based generalˉpurpose, paintable sealant that is used for caulking, grouting, jointing and embedding in building construction. It is easy to apply and compatible with most materials used in construction e.g. concrete, wood, brick, natural and artificial stone, metal and sanitary-ware. SILMATE 1100 is flexible and resists cracking, giving a smooth finish that is suitable for interior and exterior use.

APPLICATION

SILMATE 1100 Acrylic Joint & Gap Sealant is ideal for sealing low movement joints, as a flexible crack filler before painting jobs, for sealing construction frameworks e.g. between window and door frames and walls. Also suitable as an adhesive for bonding.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

SILMATE 1100 Acrylic Joint & Gap Sealant has a shelf life of 12 months if stored in a safe, cool (below 25℃) and dry place in its original moisture-tight container. If the material is kept beyond the recommended shelf life, it is not necessarily unusable, but a check should be performed to observe whether the product is still workable. To maximize the shelf life of the opened cartridge, an airtight environment can be achieved by removing the nozzle and wiping down the opening, placing a piece of plastic over it, and finally screwing the nozzle back on. Store in a cool environment.

LIMITATIONS

Not to be used where high movement accommodations is needed. Not to be used on oily or bituminous substrates, rubber or materials that may bleed oils, plasticizers or solvents. Not recommended for use in floor joints, as a glass sealant, or joints subject to continuous water immersion. When using SILMATE 1100 Acrylic Joint & Gap Sealant do not expose to water or rain for at least 24 hours. Will not adhere to some plastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene and Teflon. Not sandable.
