DESCRIPTION

SILMATE 1992 Two Parts Insulating Glass Silicone Sealant is a neutral curing sealant with high modulus and high strength, specially designed for glazing insulating glass. It has the advantage of low air permeability and excellent unprimed adhesion to glass and metal substrates, such as galvanized steel and aluminum. SILMATE 1992 Insulating Glass Silicone Sealant works with two-part mixing equipment and the two parts react quickly after mingled in scale, then cures to elastomer.

APPLICATION

Two-part silicone sealant for use as a secondary sealant in insulating glass units.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

SILMATE 1992 Two Parts Insulating Glass Silicone Sealant should be stored in airtight, closed containers. When stored at or below 30℃, both the base and curing agent have a shelf life of 12 months from date of manufacture. Refer to product packaging for "Use By" date.

LIMITATIONS

Not recommended for building materials that bleed oils, plasticizers, or solvents-materials such as impregnated wood, oil-based caulks, green or partially vulcanized rubber gaskets or tapes. Not recommended for use in totally confined spaces as the sealant requires atmospheric moisture for cure. Not recommended for continuous water immersion applications. Not recommended for use on frost-laden or wet surfaces. Not recommended for places where painting of the sealant is required, as the paint film may crack and peel. Do not apply at temperatures below 4℃ or above 40℃.
